Layout Design

The goal for many train operators is the construction of a layout.  The layout places track onto a support board, and buildings, wiring and scenery is added to create a complete model scene. Many model train manufacturers include examples of layouts in their catalogs as inspiration. Some manufacturers, Arnold included, published books devoted to layout design.  Here are a few examples from their book.
