Turntable

Perhaps one of the most significant N-Scale products resulted when Arnold began to widely expand the rapido product line with their turntable.  Nothing like this had been produced before in N-Scale.

The turntable measured 8 1/2” in diameter and could hold locomotives up to 7 1/2” long.  The bridge of the turntable rotated and automatically indexed to each track by using the 0855 controller.  A total of 48 tracks could be accessed from the turntable and extra track inserts were available as No. 0852 (packages of three).  Track adapter pieces were also available for use with other brands of track.

The 0854 Roundhouse complemented the turntable, offering shelter for five tracks.  Additional structures could be added on for further expansion.

The Arnold rapido turntable was always an expensive accessory because of its complexity, but it had a reputation for reliability in service.
