Catalogs

Rokal distributed a variety of catalogs to promote their line of electric trains:

1953

This 1953 catalog was straightforward in appearance. Early Rokal was distributed in North America via a Canadian importer.

1955

The 1955 catalog featured a photograph of the DB VT12 multiple unit passenger train.

1956

The 1956 catalog marked a departure from the earlier "generic" catalogs. At the same time, Rokal train set boxes began to feature similar artwork. For a brief period, Rokal was distributed in the United States by the Polk brothers of Aristo-Craft.

1957

1959

1962

The 1962 Catalog, Number 14, marked a departure from the company's earlier covers. At about the same time, Rokal distribution in the United States began to be handled by Nathan Preston. Preston had been an United States Army military official in Occupied Germany in the period after World War II. After the war, he had continued his interest in German model railroad items by acting as an importer for a variety of manufacturers.

1964

Catalog 16, for 1964, continued the theme

1965

1965 was a departure from previous issues, featuring a photo of a Class 03.

1967

The 1967 catalog, their No. 19, emphasized the trains which they manufactured.

1969

Catalog 20/D was their last catalog. The end was near.

New Items Brochures

Rokal also produced smaller pamphlets which detailed new items which the Company was offering. Here is a 1968 New Items brochure, complete with the new E03 electric.

Technical Books

Rokal also produced technical books to support their product line. At least two track plan books were produced, along with an electrical technical manual. Here is the 1963 track plan book, which included many electrical circuit examples and schematics of the different Rokal electrical components.
