Nürnberg

Pictured in an early catalog, the individual smoking the cigar is Ludwig Erhardt, father of the economic recovery of Germany after World War II. This photograph was taken at the Nürnberg Toy Fair of 1957, and Erhardt is probably showing genuine interest in Rokal's products. At that time, they were technologically advanced and, when exported, were a probable source of hard currency for West Germany. It was this hard currency which would help to rebuild the shattered German economy.
