Arnold H0?

Although virtually all of Arnold rapido production was N-Scale, there was an interesting exception. In the 1965/1966 and  1966/1967 catalogs, Arnold offered a special program trolley.  Using their early N-Scale mechanism fitted to an H0-Scale body made by the German firm Wiking, Arnold offered a narrow gauged trolley, an early example of H0e (or H0n2 1/2 or H0n30). The program was not repeated again, but it is an example of how Arnold was willing to explore the various possibilities of 9 mm gauged track.  These early cars are not to be confused with the Arnold’s 1990’s production of  N-Scale three truck cars based upon a Duwag prototype.
